Kathleen Thomas, Creative Advisor

Living in Germany and the Republic of Panama in her formative years sparked a lifetime of passion for the world’s culture and the fine arts. After a diverse and eclectic academic career Kat found her voice and achieved a BFA from the Memphis College of Art in Sculpture and Art History. She moved immediately from the studio practice to running the top tier galleries in Scottsdale, Arizona. In 2001, Kat launched her own alternative gallery space Studio LoDo/Phoenix Center for Contemporary Art. Opening a month after 9/11, the reality of conservative art world investments looming, guided her vision to operate as the in between venue for aspiring artists, not yet established enough for major galleries nor museums, but whose work commanded exhibition. The artwork concentration was installation, performance, video with a strong showing of painting and sculpture.

Kat continued her involvement in the art world as an art business consultant, book designer and independent curator. These professional experiences and connections led her to meet Larry and Myles Miller and join the Sunset Film Productions team as the Creative Advisor.
